Today is Commencement Day!

I have never thought that the Singapore National Anthem could be so beautiful.

When I was a kind, never once did I imagine that the National Anthem which I would sing for almost every single day of my childhood would sound so good to me now. Where I once kept my mouth rebelliously shut, today I found myself singing MY national anthem with pride...

Somehow, surrounded by my cohort mates in the University Cultural Center with the National Anthem echoing around the hallowed halls, I felt overwhelmed, to the verge of tears... I am Singaporean, yes yes yes! And no one can take that fact away from me...

Maybe it was the mere fact that I haven't heard it for over 6 years. Maybe because I haven't fully appreciated Singapore until having lived abroad. Or maybe, it was the occasion of finally attending the ceremony of which I can officially say, "I've graduated!"

No matter how, the National Anthem was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tunes I have heard , since time immemorial.

It's a good feeling, going up to the stage, walking down that 10 metre stretch that somehow seemed like 10 times longer, shaking the hand of that old but diginified looking gentleman known as the Pro-Chancellor, and then going to the end of the hall to obtain that envelope containing my certs with my name on it...

Really really glad!!! Thanks NUS.. I love you!!!
