Firstly, before I say all things else, I must commend the Cantonese chefs! The food is really one of the better meals I have had since my very first meal in Shanghai, China.
Ok ok, I admit, I am kinda biased. Reason being, I am Cantonese by blood! wahaha! But honestly, the food was really good, although of course, it also helps when Chubby Hubby was adding dishes on his own bill!
I think you probably can't really see it, but the little grey-brown piece of meat towards the back of the bowl of the bee hoon is the horse.
But was it delicious, I am sure you are wondering? Well, of course! You are talking to the Queen of Extreme Gourmet here! My only remorse? Probably that I didn't get big enough pieces of the Black Beauty.
I am glad my mom-in-law enjoyed herself. She looks very happy in all the pictures.
As for the scenery, erm.... I dunno, maybe I am a Northern Barbarian. I somehow still prefer the rugged wind-torn landscape of Scotland. The rounded, graceful, cloud-veiled mountains of Guilin somehow seem too ladylike for me. Even the rivers seem to flow too gently.
Ok, so here ends my little entry on Guilin. I know.. 8 days in Guilin and I only write a measly few lines and show only these 3 pictures? Honestly lah, you are not missing much,
