A very complex Hindi movie... NICE!

I watched a very complex Hindi movie with my mom on Vasanthum Central on Saturday while waiting for Hubby to arrive back in Singapore...

It was basically about an Indian family in London with 2 lovely daughters.. of course right? They ALWAYS have beautiful, single, unwed daughters with their mothers trying to marry all their daughters off to some London based Indian man.

Gorgeous daughter No. 1 is Anu. Anu has a mother and a father who isn't her biological father. Shirani has a father and a mother who isn't her biological mother. Anu's bio mom and Shirani's bio dad are married to each other. That said, Anu is obviously then not Shirani's real sister and vice versa, but in the movie they refer to each other as sisters.

Anu's mom loves Shirani more because Shirani is not her natural daughter while Shirani's dad loves Anu more because she's not his natural daughter. Basically both parents think they owe it to their other half's child to be nicer so that people might not think that they are being mean step-parents to the other's child... if that makes any sense.

Then... Anu has a boyfriend named Danny who she left behind when she went to find herself elsewhere. Danny then fell in love with Shirani and they had a relationship. Shirani later met the man of her dreams named Kunal who asked her to marry him, which she agreed. Shirani's family then invites Danny along to attend the wedding.

Anu tries to spite Danny into jealousy thinking that he still loves her and that she is the reason that he is turning up at all for the wedding. So Anu pays a good looking hunk Aman to come to the wedding as her beau. In the cross of fates, Kunal asks Danny to be his best man.

Aman throughout the staged romance finds himself falling in love with Anu and wants to be with her. She, however, is extremely hurt when she finds out that the whole world knows that Danny came to the wedding for Shirani and not for her. Humiliated, she yells at Aman and tells him off, screaming that he is only in love with money and nothing else.

Aman intends to leave but is stopped by Kunal. Anu then realises that she too is in love with Aman only after he leaves and only after her non-biological dad tells her that she's wrong about denying her feelings because he is really Mr. Right for her.

10 minutes before the wedding ritual starts. Shirani admits to Kunal that she had a relationship with Danny which obviously drives Kunal wild with rage and jealousy. He runs after Danny but is coaxed by Aman to run back to the wedding into the arms of the woman he loves and who loves him in return...

Obviously, all's well that ends well and Kunal married Shirani while Aman is with Anu.

All this entire fiasco in just about 1 hour... phew! No wonder Hindi movies take so long! They've got so much to say in just 1 hour, and that excludes all the song and chereographed dancing!
