Mao Shan Wang - The Butter Durian!

I have to admit, much as I am not a durian lover, I do like to think that I am a self-styled Durian connoiseur. Basically, that means that I am a damn fussy durian eater who refuses to eat anything that I personally deem as below my threshold of interest.

On a whim, Hubby decided to patronise the very brightly neon signed store which calls itself the "Four Seasons Durian Cafe". I haven't regretted it. Yes, we paid like $20 per kilo for one single 2kg Mao Shan Wang durian, but boy was it good!

Dry to the touch, moist and creamy to the palate, thick fleshy and a vivid yellow, my gawd... it's simply fantastic.. For something as fantastic (and expensive!) as this, 1 durian is more than enough...

Sad to say though, I shortly developed an allergy for this fella... started getting itchy with small bumps here and there... the rash faded rather quickly.. but yups.. it's just a holy sign from above... I have sinned!!!
